Default McCall resigns from Bradford.

Stuart McCall has resigned as manager of Bradford.

I'm really quite surprised he's lasted this long, they've not performed anywhere near what a club of their size would expect and I'm amazed that their chairman has been so patient in this day in age where everyone seems to want instant gratification.

The story on the BBC site suggests that he has just accepted that he's not the man to take Bradford forward.

He left last season only to be asked back after they missed out, so it's not really a case of him lasting this long, the Chairman stuck by him and even presuaded him to stay on, he was destined to leave last summer and I would say that has been the problem with the players, they must have had doubts in his leadership and so the decline after a decent start has come about!!

I'd forgotten that happened last year. Presumably he felt at the time that he'd ran out of ideas and wasn't really sure how to take the club forward, to then be talked in to staying quite how his ideas would have changed is a hard one to work out.

Kudos to their board though for sticking by the manager, such a rare occurence in todays football world.

He is Mr Bradford City most fans here hold him in high regard. Probably the same way we think of Eddie Howe.

...shame that he couldn't do a job for them....at least the club backed him and gave him every chance...something that is very rare these days...ask Mark Cooper....

...whatever happes this season Eddie will be a real hero for AFCB...
