As it stands we have 52 points with 18 games left. I've been having a look to see where promotion has been for the last few seasons.

The 3rd promotion spot in the last 7 seasons was guaranteed (not how many 3rd place got, but 1 pt more than 4th achieved) with,

08/09 - 79
07/08 - 83
06/07 - 85
05/06 - 79
04/05 - 79
03/04 - 82
02/03 - 75

Based on the fact that the league is a relatively tight one this year, bearing in mind games in hand etc, and looking at previous season I think 80pts will probably just scrape it, with 85 probably be the figure we should be looking to reach to guarantee it.

That's 28 pts or 33pts depending on which figure you take. So 11 wins from 18 for promotion. Based on what we've done so far this season and the fact that 10 of the 18 are at home (means nothing to us I know) you'd think that it's well within our grasp this year despite our squad limitations!

We're second, so it is indeed well within our grasp, but we have still got to play most of our promotion rivals, and with so many games having been missed it's going to be hard to predict. Nobody (Except Rochdale) have really taken the league by storm so I think it's really going to come down to the games against County, Dagenham, Bury etc. that will decide our season.
