Well here we go into back to back home games, it will either be frustrating/maddening or brilliant successful 4 days. Either way we should know a little more about where we're heading.
Carlisle are going well just outside the play-offs having won their last two games, but they actually aren't that brilliant away from home. Their position is based heavily on a strong home record, away they aren't nearly as successful, what's noticeable is they don't score many away. They've lost their last two away games 2-0 and 4-0 respectively. So I reckon we should be looking to get something against them on our patch. They have a big giant bruising forward in Zoko who will need watching. I'd like to see Zubar given marking duties on him because Zubar very much matches Zoko for size/strength/pace, hopefully they would cancel each other out. Ex Chelsea younster Taiwo in central midfield can be a classy act on his day, that could be an issue with central midfield perhaps being our primary area of concern. If we can keep him quiet we'll have a decent chance. The sun is out and spring is on the way. There's two home games in a few days and we're over-due a decent home game or two *pretty please, it's not too much to ask?* so here's to some smiles around DC in the coming days

Last time we had a 5 match arses kicked every game run we followed it with a long unbeaten run so my ever present optimism feels that the new unbeaten run starts on Saturday! I'd even settle for a draw over defeat right now!

Sod the attitude I can't be bothered I will be going and will enjoy it, and I am going to be a season ticket holder next season too!

Hopefully all the whiners will go on the piss before the game, forget to turn up and then those of us who want to cheer on Bradders & the boys can do so in peace!

I don't want to hear boos from our fans Saturday either, if they want the team to win then give it your all, that has been missing all season in my view!

Not quite BB but the players would certainly enjoy it more than they do at the moment...

Maybe, but then maybe they find all the negativity & booing off putting. Certainly leaves them too scared to try anything because they know if they get it wrong people like you will boo them & get on their backs.

Even at Sheffield, there was very little negativity - and the players, as usual, were applauded at the end of a pretty abject and lacklustre performance. AFCB are in the 'entertainment business' and the manager, board and players talk up how good we are. But I think the supporters know different - and they're entitled to their views AFTER the games. But then you might not of been serious in your remarks?! |

After spending the money we have and getting the results/performances we are most clubs in the league would be getting far more stick and abuse. It’s football. Typically the clubs up north for example are far more 'generous' with their abuse. The stuff being handed out by Preston up at Deepdale when we beat them earlier in the season sticks in my head for it's ferocity.
Our lot are getting off lightly thanks to the usual placit nature of us southern softies. I may like a good old moan on the internet, but at games I clap along and encourage like a right happy clapping seal for the most part. Certainly wouldn't boo. |

Oh give it a rest, there was no atmosphere when we went on the unbeaten run, don't give me this crsp about its the players and Bradders fault now we are on a poor run, truth is the north stand had been a disgrace all season, we would smash it if it came up against the old south stand, we didnt care about bad runs, great escape season we were still singing our hearts out when we had no points, it's what helped the players turn the season around, shame the home fans have lost touch with how it used to be and what it used to mean, all you bloody do now is whine all the time, pathetic...get behind the franking players ffs!

I agree the atmosphere has been crap but the performances on the pitch has hardly been inspiring has it.As for how it used to be Bradders would of been getting more stick now if we were in the old ground , now with these lovely seats at least we can go to sleep or play with our smart phones.Bradders has to win tomorrow and win well otherwise i predict the shit will hit the fan.

I'm generally quite a positive sole and a bit of a happy clapper at the football. I'll never get on the players backs as long as they give 100% in the match.
Some of my best memories as Cherry have been when we were hopelessly crap. I guess it's that point where you have to laugh at yourself. Kind of miss those days, not for the dross on the pitch, but we just went to the match to enjoy it, with the hope of getting a win. There was none of this, expecting victory, and not only that, but expecting us to sweep teams aside too. Anyone near me who boos often gets an absolute earful anyway

Trouble is where the atmosphere has been crap, and I agree with MR, the north stand have been an utter disgrace this season, any moans/abuse/booing can be clearly heard on the pitch/in the dug out because there is nothing drowning them out. They may not be as vocal as other places because we are quiet little ole Bournemouth who never make a fuss but to be frank they don't need to be that vocal because the library has more noise in it than Dean Court on a match day. Therefore in turn the players hear silence, some moans/abuse & occasionally some cheering sadly normally just from the oppo fans though and the reality is it affects them psychologically, professionals or not at the end of the day they are human. More than 1 has said they feel nervous at home because they feel the crowd are about to turn on them and that to me is unacceptable. It is certainly a factor, just one of many granted but it does have a bearing.
I understand what BB is saying & he is also right that it's hard to get behind the team vocally when they are not performing & of course when it's full of strangers still. Makes for a very catch 22 when you have a team who need the crowd behind them to help them perform and the crowd need the team to perform to lift them out of their current lethargy. One or the other has to rise to the occasion 1st and neither seem inclined to do so! How can we expect new players to our club to have any pride in wearing the shirt when the fans don't have any pride in the team or the club? How can we expect them to play with passion when there is none within the fan base? If we as fans raise our game & get behind them a bit more vocally on a match day, we remove one of the reasons/excuses for under performing. It's the only one we can directly affect. Not a lot we can do about any other factors unless one of us wins the euro millions, can buy the club, oust the current board, oust the manager if it's anyone but me (I'd bring Mel Machin in as director of football myself), ditch the sports science bollocks and do whatever is needed behind the scenes as well.
